Refunds & Cancellation
Version 2026-08-refunds-2 · Effective 2026-08-30
Trial terms, how to cancel, and your statutory right of withdrawal.
Who you are buying from
Paid plans and evidence packs are sold through Polar Software, Inc., our payment processor and merchant of record. Polar is the legal seller of the transaction: it charges your payment method, issues your invoice/receipt, collects and remits any applicable tax, and its own Buyer Terms (shown to you at checkout) govern the sale itself. Our policy below describes what we commercially do — it does not, and cannot, override or contradict Polar's own terms as the seller.
Billing cycle
Paid plans are billed per the cycle shown at checkout (monthly, or per evidence pack purchased). Monthly plans renew automatically at the start of each billing cycle until cancelled. Evidence packs are a one-time purchase and do not renew: a pack is a single payment that covers one AI system for 6 months from the date of purchase, after which it simply ends — you are never billed again for it and nothing is charged automatically. If you start a subscription while a pack is still running, the unused part of the pack price is credited against that subscription. Free-scan use is free and requires no payment method.
Free trial
New paid accounts include a free trial period, described on our pricing page at signup. The trial is a commercial offer, separate from the statutory withdrawal right described below.
How to cancel
To cancel a plan, contact support@clause50.com. We do not yet have a self-serve cancellation flow; this page will be updated to describe one once it ships.
What happens to your evidence after cancellation
Already-generated, signed artifacts remain your evidence of what was true at the time they were generated. Cancelling does not revoke them. On cancellation your organisation moves to a read-only state: every artifact you have already generated stays downloadable, together with its manifest and signature, so it remains independently verifiable. What stops is forward-looking work — generating new artifacts, connector syncs, and drift alerts. A cancelled account stays read-only for 6 months, after which account data is deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.
Refunds
Refund requests are handled case by case — contact support@clause50.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Your statutory right of withdrawal (separate from the free trial)
If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you have a statutory right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days of the contract, without giving any reason, under the EU Consumer Rights Directive. We have not asked you to waive this right, and nothing at checkout does so on our behalf — if you are a consumer buyer, it applies in full.
This is a separate right from the 14-day free trial described above. The trial is a commercial offer about how long you can use the product before being charged; the withdrawal right is a legal right to a refund of an amount already paid, running from the date of that purchase. Do not assume completing or not completing a trial affects your withdrawal right, or that the two clocks are the same clock.
This right does not apply to a business buyer purchasing under a VAT number — the withdrawal right is a consumer protection, not a business one.
To exercise your withdrawal right, contact support@clause50.com within 14 days of your purchase.
